Welcome to my photography portfolio

The pictures are ordered by subject, not by locations although most of them were made during journeys in various parts of the world. As it is hard to convey the traveler’s experience visually only by a sequence of photos, this seems more meaningful to me. Anyway, most visitors to this site probably have interests focused on a certain subject. However, the album “Latest” will generally show the pictures of my last one or two journeys or extended photo shootings.

The pictures are (hopefully) by the majority appealing photographically. But some may be of purely documentary character, illustrating something in the context of an album heading. You will also find photos substantially digitally modified (but hopefully not over-processed). Despite my age far beyond the twenties, my photo experience is essentially constrained to the era of digital photography and thus after the field work photography continues in the digital darkroom. With my technical background I enjoy trying out new image processing techniques – including artificial intelligence – sometimes implementing also my own processing program.
